Berlin

Berlin is one of my favourite cities by far and it has so much to offer. From cultural and historical sights, to beautiful parks and amazing cafes and street art it has something for everyone.

Berlin jest zdecydowanie jednym z moich najulubieńszych miast ponieważ ma tyle do zaoferowania. Od obiektów kulturowych i historycznych, po piękne parki i wspaniałe kawiarnie oraz sztukę uliczną, każdy znajdzie w Berlinie coś dla siebie.

This building is the former art centre Tacheles in the Mitte district. It was originally built as a department store in Berlin's Jewish quarter and served as a prison during the Nazi times. After the fall of the wall it was taken over by artists. It looked abondoned when I saw it and it was covered in posters and graffiti. 

Ten budynek to dawne centrum sztuki Tacheles w dzielnicy Mitte. Tacheles zostało zbudowane jako dom handlowy w dzielnicy żydowskiej, a za czasów nazistowkich służyło jako więzienie. Po upadku muru przejęli go artyści. Gdy przechodziłam obok, budynek wydał mi się całkowicie opuszczony. Cały był oblepiony plakatami i pokryty graffiti.

This place is the "death strip" dividing the Eastern and Western parts of Berlin. It was importnat for me to be there.

To miejsce to "strefa śmierci" oddzielające wschodnią i zachodnią część Berlina. Znaleźć się w tym miejscu było dla mnie ważnym przeżyciem.

The "New Synagogue" at Oranianburger Strasse was built 1859-1866 and was one of the few to survive the Kristallnacht. It was badly damaged during the war.

"Nowa Synagoga" przy Oranienburger Strasse powstała w latach 1859-1866 i była jedną z nielicznych jakie przetrwały Noc Kryształową. Została bardzo zniszczona w czasie wojny.
