Belfast

Belfast ("rivermouth of the sandbanks") is the capital city of Northern Ireland. It is located on the banks of River Lagan. It is now difficult to believe that in the 70s and 80s it was considered to be one of the world's most dangerous cities. Today Belfast is flourishing, economically and culturally.

The foundation stone of St Anne's Cathedral was laid in 1899. At the back you can see a 40-metre stainless steel spire. It is called the "Spire of Hope" and was added to the Cathedral in 2007.

The yellow arbour is a meeting point. In the distance is the Albert Memorial Clock Tower. Next, there is a bridge leading to the waterfront and the Titanic Museum.
