Scottish Highlands

Scottish Highlands are without a doubt, one of the most beautiful landscapes I have ever seen,

and the route A82 surely is one of the most picturesque of all roads in Scotland.

It passes close to Glen Coe - the Valley of Tears, shaped over centuries by the forces of ice and volcanoes. Its scenery is wild and romantic - with beautiful moors, lakes and fast streams. One of Glen Coe's greatest attractions are the peaks of the Three Sisters - Faith, Hope and Charity. 

In the past the valley was a silent witness of the battles of Scottish clans.

In modern time it served as a natural background for films like Harry Potter or Skyfall.

The route also passes the cloudy and snowy Ben Nevis range as well as the mysterious, world-famous Loch Ness.

Here are my impressions of this unique and atmospheric landscape.

Szkockie góry tworzą bez wątpienia jeden z najpiękniejszych krajobrazów jakie widziałam, a droga A82 jest z pewnością jedną z najbardziej malowniczych w Szkocji.

Przebiega ona w pobliżu Glen Coe - Doliny Łez, kształtowanej przez wieki siłami lodu i wulkanów. Sceneria jest tu dzika i romantyczna - z pięknymi wrzosowiskami, jeziorami i bystrymi potokami. Jedną z głównych atrakcji Glen Coe są wierzchołki Trzech Sióstr - Faith, Hope i Charity (Wiara, Nadzieja i Miłość).

W przeszłości dolina była cichym świadkiem bitew pomiędzy szkockimi klanami.

W naszych czasach posłużyła jako naturalne tło dla wielu filmów, takich jak Harry Potter czy Skyfall. 

Droga prowadzi też wzdłuż pochmurnego i śnieżnego pasma Ben Nevis, jak również tajemniczego i sławnego na całym świecie jeziora Loch Ness.

Oto moje impresje z tego wyjątkowego, nastrojowego miejsca.
