Beautiful Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland, a mysterious, charming and welcoming place. It stays in your memories for a long time after visiting it..

One of its main attractions is the Medieval Old Town, stretching along the Royal Mile - a street leading from the Castle to the Holyrood Palace. The Royal Mile consists of the following streets - Castlehill, Lawnmarket and High Street. Apart from this there are many narrow back alleys and it is worth losing yourself in them if only for a while.

Among sepia coloured buildings, there are delightful cafes, quirky shops with souvenirs and vintage fashion, as well as restaurants. I found the streets Cowgate and Grassmarket (located at the back of the Castle) the most interesting.

Jedną z najważniejszych atrakcji miasta jest średniowieczna starówka, rozciągająca się wzdłuż Royal Mile - ulicy biegnącej od Zamku do Pałacu Holyrood. Na Royal Mile składają się ulice Castlehill, Lawnmarket i High Street, a od nich z kolei odchodzą liczne ciekawe i wąskie zaułki, w których warto jest się na chwilę zagubić.

Wśród budynków w kolorze sepii znaleźć można nastrojowe kafejki, ciekawe sklepiki z pamiątkami i modą retro oraz restauracje. Szczególnie interesujące wydały mi się ulice Cowgate i Grassmarket, położone na tyłach Zamku.

The dog Bobby is an important figure in the history of Edinburgh and it has its own moving statue. There is also a grave. Bobby waited 14 years next to his master's grave and is a symbol of loyalty and devotion of an animal to human and an example to us all.

Piesek Bobby jest ważną postacią w historii Edynburga, a na jego cześć wzniesiono wzruszający pomnik. Odwiedzić też można grób. Bobby przez 14 lat czuwał przy grobie swojego właściciela i jest symbolem lojalności i oddania zwierzęcia dla człowieka, a tym samym przykładem dla nas wszystkich.

One of the main sights in Edinburgh is the magnificent, Medieval St. Giles Cathedral with a very characteristic spire.

Jednym z głównych zabytków Edynburga jest wspaniała, średniowieczna katedra Św. Idziego (St. Giles), z charakterystyczną iglicą.

Throughout the whole town there are old cemeteries scattered around, next to Princes Street, in the areas of Greyfriars and Calton. They have a unique atmosphere, dark and peaceful. 

Po całym mieście rozsiane są stare cmentarze - przy Princes Street, w okolicach Greyfriars czy Calton. Mają one niepowtarzalny nastrój, są mroczne i spokojne.

What I love most about Edinburgh is the proximity to nature. The city is surrounded by hills (the best known is the Arthur's Seat), lakes and lawns. From the gentle hills you can see a breathtaking panorama and the sea in the distance.

Najbardziej w Edynburgu urzekła mnie bliskość przyrody. Miasto otoczone jest wzgórzami (najbardziej znanym jest Tron Artura), jeziorami i trwanikami. Z łagodnych wzgórz roztacza się wspaniała panorama, a w tle widać morze.
