Paris

Paris - city of lights, fashion capital, writer's and painter's oasis... The journey on Eurostar train from London takes just over two hours.

Sitting in the Parisian cafes and strolling around Montmartre you can feel like an artist yourself and for me too, the stay in Paris turned out to be a huge inspiration.

Paryż - miasto świateł, stolica mody, ulubione miejsce pisarzy i malarzy... Podróż pociągiem Eurostar z Londynu trwa tylko trochę ponad dwie godziny. 

Przesiadując w paryskich kawiarniach i spacerując po Montmartre samemu można poczuć się artystą i dla mnie też pobyt w Paryżu okazał się wielką inspiracją.

I found the Pere Lachaise cementary extremely beautiful and soothing. It is such a calm and spiritual place. It took me almost two hours to walk around it, trying to find Moliere, Balzac and Chopin. According to the tradition you should leave a red rose on the grave of Edith Piaf and a love letter on the grave of Abelard and Heloise. 

Cmentarz Pere Lachaise wydał mi się niezwykle piękny i kojący. To takie spokojne i duchowe miejsce. Obejście cmentarza zajęło mi prawie dwie godziny, gdy próbowałam znaleźć groby Moliera, Balzaca i Chopina. Według tradycji na grobie Edith Piaf zostawia się czerwoną różę, a na grobie Abelarda i Heloizy - listy miłosne.

I was happy to see so many fresh flowers by the beautiful grave of Chopin.

Ucieszył mnie widok tak wielu świeżych kwiatów przy pięknym grobie Chopina.

Jim Morrison's grave is very simple but judging by the amount of fresh flowers and messages it is probably one of the most visited here. 

Grób Jima Morrisona jest bardzo skromny, ale sądząc po ilości świeżych kwiatów oraz pozostawionych wiadomościach, jest prawdopodobnie jednym z najczęściej tu odwiedzanych.

The tradition says you should leave an imprint of your lips on the white stone of Oscar Wilde's tomb. Apparently the whole stone was covered in lipstick and it had to be cleaned. Since then a glass wall was put around the tomb to protect it. Now women just kiss the glass and so did I.

Tradycja głosi, że należy złożyć odcisk ust na białym kamieniu grobowca Oscara Wilde'a. Podobno cała kamienna płyta była pokryta szminką i trzeba było ją wyczyścić. Następnie grobowiec otoczono szklaną płytą aby go chronić. Teraz kobiety po prostu składają pocałunki na szkle i ja również tak zrobiłam.
