Surrounded by the Renaissance walls, Lucca is the birth place of Giacomo Puccini and one of Tuscany's most charming towns.

The San Michele Basilica dedicated to the Archangel Michael is the most representative temple in Lucca.

Bazylika San Michele dedykowana Archaniołowi Michałowi, jest najbardziej reprezentatywną świątynią w Lukce.

Another impressive church is the San Martino Cathedral with beautiful works of Ghirlandaio and Tintoretto.  It houses the Volto Santo (the Holy Face) - a cedar wood crucifix and image of Christ, believed to be made by Nicodemus.

Kolejnym robiącym wrażenie kościołem jest Katedra Świętego Marcina z pięknymi dziełami Ghirlandaio i Tintoretta. Znajduje się tu Volto Santo (Świętę Oblicze), czyli wyrzeźbiony z cedrowego drewna krucyfiks z podobizną Chrystusa, którego wykonanie przypisuje się Nikodemowi.

On the 3rd weekend of each month there is a huge antiques market in Lucca's historical centre - a truly amazing experience for lovers of beautiful things from the past - vintage clothes, furniture, jewellery and ceramics.

W trzeci weekend każdego miesiąca, w historycznym centrum Lukki odbywa się ogromny rynek antyków. Jest to wspaniałe doświadczenie dla miłośników pięknych starych przedmiotów - ubrań retro, mebli, biżuterii oraz ceramiki.

There are many cafes and restaurants all over the historical part of Lucca.

The San Frediano Basilica delights with its magnificent mosaic on the facade.

The garden belonging to the Pfanner Palace is a peaceful green oasis in Lucca - there is a pond with fountains and many statues, roses, as well as magnolia and bamboo trees.
