Italian Grand Tour Part 2 - Sirmione and Lago di Garda

The historical centre of Sirmione is located on a peninsula of Lake Garda.

The Scaligiero Castle is the most known landmark. It was built in the 13th century to protect the town against enemies.

Najbardziej znaną budowlą jest zamek Scaligiero. Zbudowano go w XIII wieku aby chronić miasto przed wrogami.

In the old town there are many lovely souvenir shops, restaurants and countless gelaterias. 

Na starówce znajduje się wiele uroczych sklepików z pamiątkami, restauracji oraz mnóstwo lodziarni.

Garda is the largest lake in Italy. Sometimes it feels like being by the sea when the waves grow stronger and you can't see the mountains in the horizon. The water is crystal clear and has the most wonderful colour.

Garda to największe jezioro we Włoszech. Czasami ma się wrażenie, że jest się nad morzem, zwłaszcza gdy nasilają się fale, a na horyzoncie nie widać gór. Woda jest kryształowo czysta, o pięknym kolorze.

The Meditteranean climate favours countless olive trees.

Śródziemnomoski klimat sprzyja licznym drzewkom oliwnym.

An interesting place to see is the Grotto of Catullus - impressive Roman ruins. From here there is a marvellous view overlooking the entire lake.

Ciekawym i wartym obejrzenia miejscem jest grota Katullusa - imponujące ruiny rzymskie. Stąd rozciągają się malownicze widoki na całe jezioro.
